Hertzberg Family Dedicates Thoughtful Gift to The Campaign for Landon
Please join us in extending our deepest gratitude to Carter ’89 and Lisa Hertzberg for their commitment of $100,000 toward The Campaign for Landon, designated to capital needs and The Landon Fund. The couple’s gift reflects their family’s connection to and hopes for the future of Landon.
During his time at Landon, Carter helped lead Landon to four IAC championships, going on to continue his legacy as a record-breaking goalie at Duke University. His son, Graham Hertzberg ’21, followed in his footsteps as an MVP of Landon’s lacrosse team, and now plays lacrosse at the University of Michigan. Carter and Graham are Landon’s only father/son high school All-Americans. In addition, both were lacrosse team captains and named to all-IAC teams. “Carter has always represented the best of our students,” Coach Rob Bordley ’66 recalls. “He was a great athlete and a great citizen, and he continues to be now. His continued involvement in the school after all these years epitomizes everything you hope for in an alumnus. He’s a gentle and thoughtful person, and I cherish my friendship with him.” The Hertzbergs explain that their gift is part of a larger communal effort. “To us, it really isn’t about our personal gift,” Carter notes. “It’s about showing the support of the community for the continuation of Landon’s mission to develop boys socially, intellectually, and academically. It’s about the experience I had 30 years ago, that my son had just a few years ago, and that my future grandson may have. It’s up to all of us to give back to the school that gave us so much, to ensure it has the best future possible.” If you would like to support The Campaign for Landon with a gift that has meaning to you, please contact Director of Development Peter J.
